We will begin our announcements with our Senior of the Day:  ZACHARY PELHAM .  Congratulations Zach!!!   Please stop in the office for your free lunch pass.

 

Students:   Be sure to cast your Winter Homecoming ballot during 1^st hour today. Mr. Wright will be around to collect those ballots during 1^st hour today.

 

A reminder to all YIG students: the final installment of $270.00 for the spring conference is due next Wednesday, February 1^st.

 

Operation Warm Drive has begun.  Boxes are in the cafeteria for anyone willing to donate any old or new hats, jackets, scarves, and boots.  The drive will last until February 3^rd.  Any questions contact Monica Warner or Tori Lane.

 

Attention Seniors…the list of seniors who are on track to earn the Red Cross Honor Cord for graduation is posted in the office.  You must donate blood or work three blood drives to qualify. If you have questions regarding the Red Cord program see Mr. Wright as soon as possible.

The Guidance Office has received information on several college opportunities.  Bowling Green State University will be holding a Presidents’ Day Open House on February 20.  Lawrence Tech will be hosting an event entitled Meet the Deans on Saturday, February 25.  Baker College has invited students and their families to participate in their 2012 Financial Aid Workshop on Saturday, February 11, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Hot breakfast will be served and they have a variety of items to raffle, including three $500 Baker College Scholarships.  Please see the Guidance Office to register for any of these events.

 

The Technical Society of Toledo (TST), Toledo Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), and the University of Toledo are hosting the 2012 Engineer-for-a-Day Program as part of the 2012 Engineers Week again this year.  We cordially invite your school to participate in the Northwest Ohio program of this nationally recognized activity on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. see the guidance office for details.

 

The Guidance Office has received the scholarship applications for the Wildcat Athletic Boosters Scholarship.  The scholarship is for one male athlete and one female athlete graduating from Onsted High School and accepted at an institution of higher education.  The Guidance Office has also received the applications for the Onsted Education Association Scholarship.  Applicants must have an interest in elementary, middle school or secondary education and be a current senior who is graduating from Onsted High School this year.  Stop by the Guidance Office for more info or to pick up applications.

 

Attn Seniors:  the Onsted Alumni Association is giving a scholarship to a senior that will be pursuing their post secondary education at a community college, a trade school or a training program. Applications are available in the guidance office.   Also the Onsted Community School Foundation Scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office or online on the school website.  Both application deadlines are the 1^st Friday in April.  Any questions please contact Mrs. Kidder.

Friday:  FCA will meet in Mr. Aiken’s room and Prom committee will meet in Mrs. Biringer’s room both at 7:30 a.m. and Book Club will meet in the library after school.
